On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Teatro Auditorium Santa Chiara in Trento, the show "Un Amico" will be staged with Mario Brunello and Virgilio Sieni.
The show sees the musician Mario Brunello and the choreographer Virgilio Sieni together for the first time in an evening tribute to the music of Ezio Bosso, a friend who died prematurely.
Mario Brunello (from a letter from Mario Brunello to Virgilio Sieni):
"...Ezio was a friend who left a deep mark on me. A friendship in which music was the reason for the beginning, but also the end, of our relationship. At a certain point the music went crazy, she began to speak a language unknown to both of them, she dressed herself in gold and glitter and began to bewitch, to sing like sirens, to play swirling passing over everything and everyone. Inevitably, the external weak part had an easy, obvious game.
We clashed, divided and each on his own path.
Ten years later, the 2014 "Roots" Sonata that Ezio wrote for me sends me a reminder and I think it's time to try to make it feel like what it is, or at least what I feel it is, with roots in Bach, Cage, Messiaen, Paert. Ezio's is pure, honest music, built with few notes, but with a hidden expressive potential, an uncontainable explosive charge, which even a simple flower with a few petals can have."
Virgilio Sieni:
"Dancing to the music that permeated the bond between Mario and Ezio restores the sense of love, so powerful that the body is thought of as light. This is when dance takes over as an extreme gesture, as a form of love that is created by feeling alive. The dances - duets, quintets, solos - pass on the tactile quality of a space designed as a spiral, a vortex that, born each time from the details of the movement, joins the whole and vice versa. The animal nature of a sensitive body I think attracts light, or rather, absorbs some flashes that clairvoyantly make their way over time to settle in the layers of the gesture to recognize themselves in the swirling lump of energy, with silence, with breath, with music".
