On Friday 8 March 2024, the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino at the Officina dell 'autonomia in view of the concert to be held on 12 March 2024 at the Teatro Sociale in Trento with the orchestra of the G. At the Officina dell 'autonomia, the singer Gigliola Cinquetti – icon of Italian song, winner at 16 of her first Sanremo Festival with Non ho il edad and the first Italian singer to win the Eurovision Song contest – dialogues with Quinto Antonelli, historian and author, together with Anna Iuso, of the book "Writing to idols: popular writing in the sixties and around starting from the 150,000 letters to Gigliola Cinquetti".
A dialogue on the thread of memories between the words of the fans, the most iconic objects and clothes, and the decision to preserve this heritage by donating it to the museum.
In 2002, in fact, Gigliola Cinquett donated his rich archive to the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino, consisting of about 150,000 letters written between 1963 and 1992 by fans, admirers and admirers. In addition to letters, the archive consists of a collection of 45 and 33 rpm records, promotional materials, music scores and song lyrics, costume magazines, newspaper clippings, and stage photographs. Of particular value are the seventy clothes worn by Gigliola Cinquetti during his performances, such as the one worn at the Sanremo Festival and at the 1964 Eurovision when he sang I'm Not Old. It is an important documentation that allows us to experience first-hand the popular approval of the singer but also to recount the profound changes in Italy, especially in the sixties and seventies.
The backdrop to the discussion will be some of the singer's clothes, letters received in the early years of her career, photo shoots that appeared in major national and international magazines and other personal items.
