Until 29 October 2023 at Palazzo delle Albere you can visit the exhibition entitled "Anima Mundi - The Joust of Life"
The world is a single great living organism, from which differences are generated that are linked by a universal soul, the soul of the world.
Everything is in perpetual rotation and in the carousel of life opposites chase each other, they chase each other, sometimes they prevail over each other but they do not cancel each other out and do not eliminate each other. Everything ends, everything begins again. And the differences develop energy and spirit in the kaleidoscope that, rotating relentlessly, is moved by the soul of the world.
Nine rides run non-stop showing the works of great artists, each symbol of opposites, one the opposite of the other. At the beginning and end of this performance, the great and spectacular Joust of the life of the Belgian artist Koen Vanmechelen takes place: a magnificent tribute to the beauty and diversity of life, between real, hybrid and fantastic creatures, which transcends borders, languages, cultures, to celebrate the uniqueness of each creature that inhabits our planet, reminding us of the perpetual movement of life.
An immersive and dynamic exhibition itinerary accompanies the spectator – between sounds, light narratives and scenic installations – to the discovery of life and death, light and darkness, earth and water, sun and moon, angels and demons, origin and becoming, animals that fly and walk between dream and reality. A perceptive story that shows the different wonders of life and that at the end surprises with a hundred rotating taxidermised chickens, artistic works created by nature, to illustrate to the visitor the beauty of diversity in the soul of the world.
