In 1980, Giampaolo Bertozzi and Stefano Dal Monte Casoni founded the company Bertozzi & Casoni, which deals with ceramic sculpture, an expressive medium chosen by the two as their field of action.
Protagonists of a technical and formal experimentation, the artists elaborate works poised between irony and social inquiry, between criticism of consumerism and reflection on the art system. Reality is reproduced by paying particular attention to discarded or secondary elements, causing shifts in meaning and confusion between sign and appearance. On display, their works dialogue with those of great artists from the Mart Collections, including Fontana, Melotti and Morandi, to underline the clear references to the world of contemporary and design in the work of the two sculptors, also characterised by a great attention to the art of the past.
