The Galleria Civica presents a solo exhibition by Christian Fogarolli, born in Trento in 1983.
The artist's research is based on historical-archival investigations and is nourished by direct collaborations with scientific research centres. Fogarolli's approach thus involves multiple disciplines without hierarchical barriers, such as psychiatry, anthropology, natural sciences, psychology and medical sciences.
Supported by an unusual training course for a visual artist, marked by degrees in archaeology and art history followed by a master's degree in diagnostics and restoration, Fogarolli dedicates himself to creative practice while maintaining a more intellectual than artistic approach in the common sense of the term. The resulting works question the relationship between body and mind, between senses and intellect, between normality and deviance, and stimulate a reflection on the concept of disease in contemporary society.
