The Mart dedicates a tribute exhibition to Daniele Tamagni. In the spaces of the Civic Gallery, curated by Chiara Bardelli Nonino, Gabriele Lorenzoni, Aïda Muluneh and in collaboration with Daniele Tamagni Foundation, Milan, the exhibition traces the artist's short career.
An atypical figure in the contemporary art scene, Daniele Tamagni (Milan, 1975 - 2017) began to photograph as an adult and immediately obtained excellent feedback and awards such as the Canon Young Photographer Award, the ICP Infinity and the World Press Photo Awards. Known in fashion photography circles, deeply linked to Trentino, where he spent part of his childhood and adolescence, Tamagni uses photography as a tool for social investigation. His shots in African megalopolises or from South America show the joy of living, the ability to adapt, the pride and joy of urban communities for whom fashion is a tool to position themselves in a reinvented society. The images of Congolese saurians, Afrometals from Botswana, Bolivian wrestlers, young dance groups from Johannesburg remind us of the subversive and political value of fashion.
