The "Fiera delle Scale", also known as the "Fiera di Santa Croce", is one of the oldest fairs in Trentino. Its origins date back to the mid-13th century and originally took place in Via Santa Croce, from which its alternative name derives. After that, the fair was moved to Piazza di Fiera and finally to Piazza Duomo, where it is still held today.

At one time, the fair was characterized by the sale of wooden stairs, indispensable for agriculture and many handicrafts. Hence its nickname "Fiera delle Scale".

Today, the fair has taken on a more general character and offers a wide range of products:

  • Flowers and plants: in Piazza Duomo, you can find a wide variety of flowers and garden plants, perfect for decorating your home or terrace.
  • Products for the home and the person: from tableware to clothing, from body care products to home accessories, the fair offers a wide choice of items for all tastes and needs.
  • Typical Trentino products: honey, cheeses, cured meats and other local food and wine products are an opportunity to taste the flavours of Trentino.

If you are in Trento in spring, the Fiera delle Scale is an event not to be missed. It is an opportunity to stroll through the historic centre of the city, shop for typical and artisan products, and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
