From 22 March to 9 November 2025 at the Muse - Science Museum of Trento there will be an exhibition dedicated to the International Year for the Conservation of Glaciers. The United Nations has designated 2025 as the International Year for the Conservation of Glaciers and for the occasion MUSE Agorà welcomes a project dedicated to the research activities conducted by the museum on glacial environments and their biodiversity.

Glaciers are custodians of valuable information, preserving traces of Earth's past and signs of its future. They cover about 10% of the Earth's surface, but they are fundamental climate regulators and habitats that host a unique biodiversity, threatened with extinction due to an unprecedented rate of melting. Their disappearance is causing a profound transformation of the mountain and polar environment and landscape, with negative impacts on activities such as tourism, agriculture, pastoralism and hydroelectric power production.
