From 6 to 9 March 2025, four evenings dedicated to the history of Anna Karenin will be held at Trento's Teatro Sociale with Galatea Ranzi.
The power of Tolstoy's novel, with its ability to challenge the passage of time, has dragged with it Anna, the protagonist, who is now part of the collective imagination, as well as its tragic end.
Galatea Ranzi embodies the rebellion against a suffocating marriage, the overwhelming love that leads her to be banned from society and estranged from her children. The impossibility of finding a new place in the moralistic Russian society of the time is the ruin of women, which makes this story a real indictment against the conformist and puritanical attitude of nineteenth-century Petersburg.
