The places of music, cinema and entertainment in Trento between the past and present
The pleasant trek winds through the city of Trento, starting from its origins, admiring and talking about the Tridentum amphitheatre, then passing in front of the Liceo Musicale Coreutico Bonporti and finally reaching the outside of the Palace itself to describe the parties and shows that were held and organised there in the Renaissance, including the ephemeral sections set up in front of the Castello del Buonconsiglio. Near the latter in the twentieth century we will see where the first great cinematographer of the city (the cinema Italia) was located.
Going up from Via Suffrago we will discover the eighteenth-century theatre (Teatro Osele which was located in the eponymous alley), then in Via Manci del Cinema Vittoria and finally the Teatro Sociale. Transiting in Piazza del Duomo we will open a historical parenthesis on the great fireworks shows that were set up on the occasion of the vigil festivities. Not far from here you can admire in the Basilica Church of Santa Maria Maggiore the famous organ that had amazed the Council Fathers present in the city for the Tridentine Synod and that was also played by Hendel.
In Via Verdi we will admire the headquarters of the Philharmonic Society where classical music concerts are regularly held. From here we will travel along a suggestive stretch of city streets until we reach the Cinema Modena, located near Palazzo Lodron, concluding the trek with the Santa Chiara Cultural Services Centre.
