On 29 June 2023 at 6:00 pm at Le Gallerie di Piedicastello there will be an evening dedicated to the birthday of the Historical Museum of Trentino.
One hundred years after the opening of the Museum in the halls of the Castello del Buonconsiglio, the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino is organising a public event to celebrate its birthday. For an evening, the exhibition space of Le Gallerie will be the evocative setting of an event to the rhythm of music and conviviality. Between bands and street food, the party will be an opportunity to thank the friends of the Museum and toast to the future.
The tale from 1923...
On 29 June 1923 the Museum opened in the halls of the Castello del Buonconsiglio; in 1945 the name was changed to the Museum of the Risorgimento and the Struggle for Freedom and in 1995 to the Historical Museum in Trento. In 2007 a new transformation: the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino began its activity.
2023 marks an important milestone: we celebrate the Centenary of an institution that has always had the main task of making history. A century in which our institution has witnessed and interpreted great events, cultural and social changes and has in turn been crossed by history.
Therefore, in the coming months we want to experience "our" Centenary as an opportunity to look at the steps taken by this institution and the last century of history. In the belief that this reflection can be an inspiration to interpret the role of the Museum in the future.
We want to do this by proposing very different opportunities for discussion, with conferences, audiovisual products, informative, social and festive moments.
So that this can be not only the Centenary of an institution, but a milestone to be shared with the entire community of people who – for work, study, interest or leisure – over time have crossed it and who today continue to frequent it and make it alive.
