The Contemporary Regional Season, programmed by the S. Chiara Cultural Services Centre in collaboration with the Teatro Stabile in Bolzano, continues with a double appointment characterised by the incredible talent of the couple formed by Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mastrella.
The two artists, among the most innovative and experimental in Italy, awarded in 2018 with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Biennale Teatro di Venezia, will star at the Teatro SanbàPolis in Trento on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 February with two of their creations: Pitecus and Hybris.
On Friday, February 23, 2024, their last play entitled "HYBRIS" will be staged, an ontological-humorous, delirious-realistic, psychoanalytic-lunar and lunatic work. Locked in a rectangle on the sides only drawn in the ground and therefore always passable, it suggests a cold environment for the conservation of the species, equipped with some comfort for periods of long imprisonment, open to the infinities of abjection and laughter, of paradox and stratospheric and uncontainable acceleration, of the storm and of the anthropological gaze.
"How can you fill empty things? Is it possible that emptiness is just a point of view? The door...because that's the only way to get away. Everyone loses orientation, the certainty of being in a place, loses his kingdom so on earth and not in heaven. The man turns to the beast. That he himself represents. Without resentment. The door has lost the room and its meaning, it opens into nothingness and closes into nothingness. It divides what does not exist... around an aseptic environment made of flashes. – the two artists explain - Being is a prisoner of the body, fascinated by the omnipotence of its image, it transforms its appearance to achieve the immobile and silent beauty that is so dear to it. The natural cages imposed by the world legislate on birth, growth and culture, but death is as usual covered up; to dolls these things seem useless suffering, even vulgarity".
In Hybris, Antonio Rezza will be joined on stage by Ivan Bellavista, Manolo Muoio, Chiara Perrini, Enzo Di Norscia, Antonella Rizzo, Daniele Cavaioli, Cristina Maccioni.
