In the cathedral of San Vigilio in Trento, an Art Exhibition of the members of the UCAI section of Trento (the Catholic Union of Italian Artists) will be inaugurated on Friday, October 20 at 5:00 p.m. - in the Aula San Giovanni.
Once again thisyear, the group of artists accepted the invitation to represent a precious and indispensable asset for life in different pictorial, sculptural and photographic techniques: Water.
During last spring there were videoconference meetings attended by the different authors that we will see in the Exhibition. Through a meticulous analysis, we went in depth to discover together the many and varied uses of this fundamental element for life by listening and interacting with the speakers. In the various meetings there was talk on March 6 of "The importance of water" with Don Marco Morelli, on March 27 "Per Aquam. Who goes and who stays"with Giuseppe Calliari and on 17 June" Water keepers "with Cecilia Salizzoni.
But let's see some of the statements by UCAI President Marco Morelli (sculptor) written in the presentation of the Exhibition Catalogue. "We, from the Trentino section of the UCAI, have been living the sense of belonging for some years, and, in addition to dedicating ourselves with docility to our own daimon, we have agreed to dedicate research and experimentation also to common themes, even if very open, silence, speech, land and thisyear water. Of this primordial universal and immediate element, taking for granted the recognition of its necessity and usefulness, as painters we consider the visual and symbolic aspects that have always belonged to water".
Archbishop Lodovico Maule, Dean of the Chapter of the Cathedral, also wished to be present at the beginning of the Catalogue with some observations and concluding: "May the beauty of the works on display help us to reflect on the precious gift of water, to be guarded and respected, so that it may be a gift for all the living and for those who will come after us and be urged to reflect on the gift of Grace that is in us through the Sacrament of Baptism, which as children of men has made us children of God forever".
A special thanks goes to him, Monsignor Maule, who also on this occasion offered us the opportunity to exhibit in this significant venue.
Here are the 20 names of the artists: Anita Anibaldi, Gianpaolo Antolini, Luigi Bevilacqua, Chiara Boratti, M.A. Marisa Brun, Carla Caldonazzi, Rita Cench, Mirta De Simoni Lasta, Teresa Delaiti, Tullia Fontana (Lula), Maurizio Frisinghelli, Udalrico Gottardi, Silvio Magnini, Mastro 7, Marco Morelli, Angelo Orlandi, Lina Pasqualetti Bezzi, Giuliana Pojer, Rita Savino and Camilla Tosetti.
