The seventeenth century, the "century of the soldier", was certainly the century of music. The production that has remained to us, although decimated, is enormous and varied. This concert proposed by the Harmonic Labyrinths - Barocko23 led by the violinist Andrea Ferroni will give us a demonstration in Trento at the Sala Falconetto of Palazzo Geremia during the day of the Saturday of carnival, there will be dances, whims and extravagances with music for strings of the seventeenth century Italian. A century that almost never had peace between wars and plagues, between intrigue and misery.
In the seventeenth century, dance music was the meeting and exchange point between popular music and cultured music: like an underground river it flows under all musical production, from church, chamber music, theatre. Popular airs and stubborn basses constantly emerge in the works of the composers of the time. The short phrasing and the simplicity of the material used have unstoppable energy and concision.
