The meeting "Li Tumulti Parturisce Li Boni Ordini - Gaismayr and the European uprisings of the early sixteenth century" will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at the Officina dell 'Autonomia in Trento.

  • Intervention by Giorgio Politi, former full professor of Modern History, University of Venice-Ca’ Foscari
  • Introducing Giuseppe Ferrandi, Director of the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino

The conflicts, unheard of in terms of breadth and radicality, that swept the Continent between the late Middle Ages and modern times in Spain, Germany and northern Italy, indelibly marking its internal structures, showed beyond any doubt, as expressed by the profound judgment of Niccolò Machiavelli, that social clashes are no longer mere manifestations of disorder, but decisive engines for the development of societies themselves.

Initiative carried out as part of the "Contro. Revolts and repressions in the Alps", in collaboration with the Michael Gaismayr Club of Trento.
