Thursday, June 5, 2025 at MUSE - Science Museum of Trento there will be a cultural event dedicated to Lithium Mines

What is the true cost of the energy transition?

Lithium mining is a central node of the global energy transition, but it brings with it

important questions about social and environmental impacts, as well as the rights of local communities. Angela Pozzobon and Rebecca Bonechi, students at the University of Trento, propose a critical reflection on these issues, based on their experience of field research in Argentina, analysing in particular the tensions between the development of the mining industry and the protection of the fragile ecosystems of the Puna and the Argentine salt pans.
