Paolino Rasura had a dream: to leave Santafarra to attend the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo. Now he is thirtyyears old, he is no longer Pauline but Paul, he has made a family of his own and lives in Palermo, yes, but he is a cart painter in the employ of his tyrannical father-in-law, and he feels that he has wasted his chance. In December 1967, the late artist returned to his native country for the funeral of Filippu, the sculptor who had filled his garden with the heads of famous people and who had transmitted to little Paolo his boundless love for art.
