Exhibition "Delle grape e dei fatpati: viaggio circa alla vite" at the headquarters of the Municipal Library of the city of Trento on Thursday 26 October and Thursday 23 November 2023.
The cultivation of vines, the production and trade of wine, have long been one of the main engines of the Trentino economy.
Through the exhibition of books, documents and images from their collections, the Municipal Library and the Historical Archive of the Municipality of Trento intend to propose a path through the history of this important sector of the economy of our territory.
The production and trade of wine remains traced in the rich documentation preserved: proclamations, records of bills for the wine trade, pleas from citizens to the authorities regarding the terms of the harvest, lawsuits for smuggling, acts of cause between the city and the towns of the long Adige, as well as in ancient contemporary print publications.
Insights are also offered for reflection on the "grape festivals" which, throughout the 1930s, achieved considerable popular success, also driven by the rhetoric and propaganda of the fascist government.
The theme of the vine and wine is treated in a broad and in-depth way with proposals for reading, non-fiction and narrative, listening, vision and moments of sharing and conversation.
