On Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the Press Room of Palazzo Geremia in Trento, the book "Listening to the present: the Historical Museum of Trento on the road between the Risorgimento, struggle for freedom and autonomy" will be presented, curated by Roberto Colletti and Caterina Tomasi, published by the Fondazione Museo storico del Trento on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the Trentino Museum of the Risorgimento.
The initiative is promoted by the Associazione Museo storico in Trento aps in collaboration with the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino.
The volume "Listening to the present" represents a bridge between the past and the contemporary, a broad look at both the events of an important city institution and those of a century during which the Museum itself has played a fundamental role in the study of the past and in the definition of an identity of the city of Trento and of the wider and changing territory of reference.
The presentation meeting of this book that puts a museum in dialogue with its own history will be introduced by Franco Ianeselli, mayor of Trento and president of the Historical Museum Association of Trentino.
The composite history of the Museum will be retraced by Vincenzo Calì, Roberto De Bernardis and Patrizia Marchesoni. Its most recent history, with an openness to the regional dimension and a reading on future prospects, will be reserved for the interventions of Luigi Blanco and Giorgio Mezzalira. Finally, the importance of archives, libraries and collections will be the focus of Caterina Tomasi's speech.
