After the first presentation held in Rome last September, the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino hosts a second appointment with the author of the book La Regia aeronautica nel Dodecaneso (1927-1943), General Chief Inspector Basilio Di Martino, who will discuss with Prof. Gregory Alegi, an expert in aeronautics and professor of US history and politics at LUISS in Rome.
A valuable work of military history, which is part of the series published on the occasion of the Centenary of the Italian Air Force (1923-2023), La Regia Aeronautica nel Dodecaneso illuminates the activity carried out by the Regia Aeronautica, between the first post-war period and the Second World War, in the Dodecanese archipelago. Rich in historical references, technical data, stories of pilots and crews, accompanied by unpublished images, the publication delves into an operational theatre, that of the eastern Mediterranean, which acquires its strategic value in the aftermath of the war in Ethiopia (1936), with the worsening of relations between Italy and Great Britain.
The meeting will be introduced and coordinated by Giuseppe Ferrandi, director of the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino.
