On Friday, May 3, 2024, "Rimaye" will be staged at the Teatro SanbàPolis in Trento, the last appointment with the Contemporary Regional Season, the programming carried out in collaboration between the Santa Chiara Cultural Services Center and the Teatro Stabile in Bolzano.
The show is by AZIONIfuoriPOSTO, with conception and choreography by Silvia Dezulian and Filippo Porro, and with the dramaturgical consultancy of Lorenza Guerrini, in co-production with the Centro Servizi Culturali S. Chiara. Silvia Dezulian, Lorenzo Morandini, Dorotea Porro, Filippo Porro, Gloria Trolla will take the stage.
The term rimaye derives from the Latin rima, meaning "crack", and is used in mountaineering to indicate the terminal crevasse of the glacier, an empty space that separates the moving ice from the rocky walls.
Starting from a reflection on the melting and detachment of glaciers, the Trentino company AZIONIfuoriPOSTO opens an investigation into what is soon destined to disappear and its legacy, linking human bodies and glacial bodies as both perennially moving landscape modifiers and custodians of memories, linked to Time and its irreversibility.
Through a series of excursions and field researches near some glaciers in the Alps, the project combines the performative-choreographic language of the company with a scientific and historical research of the changing mountain landscapes; it reflects on the disruptive force and disarming fragility of both the human and the environment that surrounds it, putting them on the same level and focusing on their ability to shape and store stories and experiences destined to disappear and leave room for what is to come.
It's just a matter of time. The body is like a glacier: that drop of water that creeps between the ice cracks, widens them and manages to move them imperceptibly downstream, makes a drop of sweat that creeps between the bodies, makes them give way little by little until they are exhausted and imprinted on the ground.
