The exhibition "Seasons - Life and work in an alpine territory" that the METS will set up at Palazzo Roccabruna from 26 October to 30 November 2023 is organised as part of the 24th edition of "Bitm - The days of mountain tourism" which will take place in Trento from 14 to 17 November 2023.
The exhibition narrates the daily life in the succession of the seasons of a rural Trentino now living almost only in the memory of our grandparents.
The Educational Services of the METS-Trentino San Michele Ethnographic Museum offer various opportunities: workshops ("A treasure hunt... in the four seasons") for children and families, guided tours and workshops dedicated to kindergartens, primary and secondary schools.
"Stagioni. Vita e lavoro di un territorio alpino" is a journey through images integrated with some significant objects of traditional material culture from the collections of the METS-Trentino San Michele ethnographic museum. Suggestions of a time that flows slowly and of an existence always in search of the difficult balance imposed by the limited natural resources of the mountain.
Once man was much more tied to the cycle of the seasons that conditioned daily activities. The guided tour of the exhibition halls, curated by the educational services of the METS, will allow you to discover the crafts and activities that were once characteristic of the individual seasons and then build a clock where ethnographic objects will be the real protagonists.
