It doesn't take too many introductions for Seun Kuti & Egypt 80: Seun Kuti is the son of one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, Fela Kuti, "The Black President", a Nigerian revolutionary, musician and activist, inventor of Afrobeat.
Sean has collaborated with the likes of Carlos Santana, guitarist of his latest album, Black Times, co-produced with jazz pianist Robert Glasper and nominated for the Grammy Awards for Best World Album. Like his father, Seun struggles with music for the affirmation of his people. This is the feeling conveyed by Seun's music, by sounds that take into account the history of the latest black music. "I want to do afrobeat for my generation – comments the artist – instead of ‘get up and fight’, the message must become: get up and think".
