On Friday 22 and Saturday 23 November 2024 at the castle of will hold a conference of studies "Longobards in the drawer: new data from research on historical museum collections".
On the occasion of the exhibition "With Sword and Cross. Lombards in Civezzano", scheduled until 12 January 2025 at the Castello del Buonconsiglio in Trento, the museum conducted a review of the materials of Lombard culture found in Trentino, kept in its own deposits and in those of the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck, partner of the exhibition initiative.
An excursion into the historical collections that has led to new knowledge thanks also to innovative survey methodologies, conducted on the finds.
Starting from this recent ‘excavation in the museum’, the conference aims to share the experiences gained by other important Italian museums, sharing ideas, projects and critical issues encountered over the years, to promote in a strong and incisive way also through forms of collaboration the knowledge and enhancement of collections that still remain closed ‘in the drawer’.
