A meeting will be held on Thursday 22 May 2025 at the Officina dell 'Autonomia in Via Tommaso Gar in Trento by Quinto Antonelli, Josef Berghold, Giorgio Mezzalira and Cesare Poppi.

The contributions collected in this volume analyse multiple aspects of the representations and practices of memory as well as the material forms of culture in the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol of the twentieth century. They deal, in other words, with the cultural and identity processes that have evolved over a century marked by a broad reshuffling of borders and populations. In the background there remains the baggage of traditions, histories and memories that have reached the threshold of contemporaneity, which bears the evident signs of deep caesurae, a legacy of the progressive sedimentation of nationalisms and ethnocentrisms, never completely cured. The volume is published by the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino (2024).
