On Sunday 29 and Tuesday 31 October 2023 in the city of Trento, you can take part in Urban Trekking.
The pleasant urban ring trek unfolds around the colourful setting of Piazza Dante in Trento.
The route will be characterized by several places and passages all coloured, starting from the yellow of Castione, the stone used in the construction and furnishings of the railway station of Trento, a station built in place of the primitive Austro-Hungarian station and to date it appears to be the main railway station of the capital that is located on the Brenner line and which has also activated the branch of the Valsugana that connects Trento with Venice.
The visit will then allow you to get to know in detail the history and symbolism of the monument dedicated to Dante with its bronze colour as a common thread in the development of the sculptural group.
Continuing, you will be told the story of the romantic garden of Piazza Dante with its usual bright green colour, motivating its apparent "formal disorder".
Going up to the east you will admire the elegance of the white grey tones of the "Art Nouveau Palace", designed by the Architect Marco Martinuzzi.
La Palazzina was initially a daytime hotel of the train station, then historic Caffè Savoia and now home to the children's library.
Our urban trekking will finally experience its last stop at the foot of Torre Vanga, a medieval building with a red-baked hue that dominates the Portela district
