The ancient parish church is an amalgam of styles. Welcomes visitors to the old part of Baselga di Piné

Located in the oldest part of Baselga di Piné, the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta is a happy parenthesis among the agglomeration of the city. With its tall stone bell tower it is also identified from afar, as a spiritual reference point and for the cultural/artistic visit of the village.
Its construction goes far back in history: it appears for the first time in documents in the 13th century but is still believed to be earlier.
Despite repeated rearrangements, the result is a delicate balance of various elements of different styles: from Romanesque to Gothic, from Renaissance to Baroque.
The main altar, in Baroque style, is in carved and gilded wood; the altarpiece is the work of Pozzi, an artist who worked on the Piné Plateau in the mid-seventeenth century.

STRENGTH

The balance of styles and the central position guarding the ancient nucleus of the village of Baselga.
