One of the most famous palaces in the historic centre of Trento. The current seat of the Municipality, it was the residence of the Thun family for 400 years. Inside, there are many testimonies of the city's artistic history.

If you're in the centre of Trento, Palazzo Thun is one of the buildings not to be missed. One of the most significant noble residences in the city, it has been the seat of the Municipality of Trento for about 150 years. Its current appearance is the result of fifteenth-century renovations commissioned by the Thun family, who have owned the palace since 1454 for four centuries (its coat of arms still stands on the edges of the façade and on the arched key of the portal). Inside, the palace preserves numerous artistic testimonies linked to the civic identity of Trento: among these, the stone statue of Neptune, made in 1768 by Stefano Salterio for the fountain in Piazza del Duomo (replaced by a bronze copy). Only the inner courtyard of Palazzo Thun can usually be visited. The Vantini Chapel and the Mirana Tower are opened on occasions of exhibitions and events.
