Virtual reality returns to Cappella Vantini with the new Antiche storie d 'acqua route, the fourth project carried out by the Culture, Events, Sports and Youth office after those dedicated to the Council of Trent, the city towers and the ancient Roman Tridentum to travel through time and space to discover the city.
From Wednesday, June 3 to November 4, you can "take a dip" in historical paintings and images to rediscover the ancient coffins, the mills and the ancient course of the river Adige. Some significant historical photos will tell of women washing clothes in the fire and the ancient appearance of Piazza Duomo, until the disastrous flood of 1966. Visitors will thus be able to "walk" virtually through deeply changed places in the city, discovering their secrets.
The project was carried out by the Office for Culture, Events, Sport and Youth in collaboration with Stefano Benedetti, Gabrio Girardi of the company Neoinfinity and Carlo Andrea Postinger and with the contribution of the Museo Diocesano Tridentino, the Castello del Buonconsiglio and the photographic archive of the Autonomous Province of Trento, which made some of the materials used available.
In recent years, many people have worn the visor and have let themselves be led through time and space, in places normally not accessible, to look at the historical-artistic heritage of the city with different eyes. Since the first experience, presented to the public in 2023, about seven thousand curious people have immersed themselves in virtual reality, confirming the interest in this innovative type of cultural use.
