Culture, exhibitions, and art, Top event / June 6 - June 7, 2026 · Trento

On Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, 2026, Trento will host, for the first time, an event entirely dedicated to hot air balloons, featuring tethered flights, the “Balloon Glow” night show, and family-friendly activities in collaboration with MUSE and the Trento Tourism Board.

For the first time in its history, Trento is getting ready to look up. On Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, 2026, the city’s sky will be painted with the vibrant colors of hot air balloons taking flight for the first edition of the Balloon Fest Trento. The iconic setting of the Albere district and the MUSE—Museum of Science will serve as the stage for a two-day event brimming with excitement, offering residents and tourists alike the unique opportunity to experience the magic of a hot-air balloon ride surrounded by our stunning Alpine landscapes.

The event stems from a prestigious collaboration that brings together science, regional promotion, and aviation culture. The initiative is the result of a partnership between Kilometro Azzurro (creator of the renowned Festivolare format), MUSE, and the Trento Tourism Board.

The Program: From the Thrill of Flight to a Spectacular Light Show

The festival will kick off on the morning of Saturday, June 6, and will feature a wide range of activities for all ages. The highlight of the event will be the hot-air balloon rides, which will take place all day on Saturday, June 6, starting at 10:00 a.m., and on Sunday, June 7, until 12:00 p.m. Visitors will have the chance to experience the thrill of boarding the colorful hot air balloons, which will rise above the city from the Ex Michelin Park in the Albere district while remaining tethered to the ground. A spectacular and completely safe experience that will offer participants a unique view of the city of Trento and the Adige Valley.
Tickets will be available for purchase on-site at a cost of €10.00 for adults and €5.00 for children.
The activity is open to all accompanied children (not recommended for children under one year of age).

The highlight of the event will take place on the evening of Saturday, June 6, starting at 9:00 PM with the nighttime show “Balloon Glow.” As the sun sets, Parco delle Albere will transform into an open-air theater: the hot-air balloons will ignite their burners to the rhythm of music, lighting up in sync like giant, spectacular colored lamps against the night sky. The show will conclude around 10:00 PM.

During the event, there will also be numerous flight-themed workshops and educational activities organized by MUSE within the museum’s spaces and by the Fondazione Museo Storico – Museo G. Caproni at the Palazzo delle Albere.

The area surrounding the flights will also feature a food truck zone where visitors can enjoy a tasty break amidst the neighborhood’s urban greenery and relax with friends.

From June 3 to 7, 2026, MUSE and Palazzo delle Albere will host PlayMUSEExternal link, a rich program dedicated to board and role-playing games with activities for all ages: the event kicks off with role-playing and board game sessions organized by Volkan, followed by “Mettiti in gioco” and “Giochi in volo,” featuring strategic challenges, adventurous settings, and titles inspired by the theme of flight in honor of the Balloon Festival.
On June 7, the museum will come alive with hundreds of games, escape rooms, tournaments, demonstrations, themed areas, and free-play spaces, along with the unveiling of the LEGO model of MUSE created by Dolomites Bricks.
The day will also feature the Kid Pass Tour 2026 with workshops, educational activities, and a special meet-and-greet with the Gruffalo, while Melinda will provide entertainment and a snack for the public.
