Culture, exhibitions, and art / April 29, 2026 · Trento
Wednesday 29 April 2026 at the Gianni Caproni Aeronautical Museum in Trento.
The exhibition The «Battle of the Brenner»: stories of civilians and pilots (1943-1945) is the ideal opportunity to talk about the legacy of the «total air war».
80 years after the end of the Second World War, the effects of the Allied raids are of particular concern to the communities of the Valle dell 'Adige, where urban development and the adaptation of the road network often bring to light the 'ghosts of the past', bombs and devices that were buried at the time to accelerate the resumption of communications and the return to normalcy. Today, the reappearance of the signs of war requires the evacuation of entire inhabited areas, with consequent discomfort for the populations. To safeguard the safety of goods and people, there is the activity carried out by the soldiers of the 2nd Genio Gastatori Regiment who, based in Trento, oversee the identification, securing, defusing and transporting of war devices dating back to both the First and Second World Wars.
