The Sala del Simonino, until now known as Cappella del Simonino, is located inside Palazzo Bortolazzi Larcher Fogazzaro, in Via del Simonino, in the historic centre of Trento. It was donated to FAI by Marina Larcher Fogazzaro in 2018, to be restored and enhanced.

The Palace was the home of Simone Lomferdorm, a child protagonist despite an incredible story of anti-Semitism, religious intolerance and injustice, which deserves to be remembered and told.

FAI has decided to reopen this place with a new function: to educate the citizens of today and especially of tomorrow, that is, the young people of the schools, to which it is primarily destined. That is why it is called "Aula" del Simonino: because it wants to be like a school classroom, but outside the school.

Free visit TO the Aula del Simonino

  • For first and second grade secondary school classes
  • Subjects: History
  • Duration: 30-50 minutes

The visit consists of a "sound story" dedicated to the story of little Simone from Trento. The class, sitting on wooden benches like those of a choir, will listen in wireless headphones, designed to offer high quality audio, a narrative of about 20 minutes, informative, educational, but also of great suggestion and with a particular immersive effect, conceived and curated by FAI, entrusted to the voice of the actress from Trentino Daria Deflorian and produced by Chora Media.
After listening, the classroom will remain available for classes that want to stop, as a space for reflection and debate managed by the teachers on what they learned during the audio story.

After listening to the audio story that tells the story of Simone Lomferdorm, the class, divided into groups, with the help of maps and educational cards, will delve into the characteristics and history of the historic centre of the city of Trento in the 15th century. Different activities, questions and questions are proposed to each group, which only through the collaboration of everyone will lead to reconstructing the places linked to Simone's history and understanding how they have changed over time, in a process of discovery and education among peers.
