Like every year, the Family Festival will take place at various venues in the city of Trento. It starts on Saturday 2 and ends on Thursday 7 December 2023. On the weekend of 2 and 3 December there will be cultural, artistic, musical and sporting events for families; from Monday 4 to 7 December the usual roundup of conferences and round tables aimed not only at professionals, but at all citizens interested in learning more about the themes of the festival.
A week of events for all tastes and different targets, a path tinged with blue – this is the colour of the Festival – to reflect and deepen three major pillars: birth rate, youth policies and female employment. In addition, the event adheres to the European campaign promoted by Rai "No Women No Panel – Without women we don't talk about it" to promote a balanced and plural participation of women and men in communication events. The objective is to guarantee equal intervention in communication spaces, respect for the personal, cultural and professional dignity of women and the enhancement of talents and skills, including those of women.
The theme of this edition is "The spread between the royal family and the desired family. Which policies should be implemented based on the autonomy of young people and support for female employment ". Thisyear the absolute protagonist will be the spread, but not understood in the traditional meaning of the word, but the "spread" between the royal family and the desired family. According to ISTAT surveys, in fact, young people, when asked about their ideal of a future family, want an average of two children, while then – due to the obstacles to achieving economic independence, professional stability and the purchase of a home – these dreams do not translate into reality, given that the average number of children per woman in Trentino is 1.36 compared to the national average of 1.25.
