For three days, from 17 to 19 May 2024, Trento will become the capital of the scientific debate on the relationship between humans and large carnivores. On the occasion of the great closing event of the European life WolfAlps project, the city of Trento comes alive with scientific talks, workshops and shows dedicated to the activities carried out in recent years by the project staff and future prospects.
The main purpose of the life WolfAlps EU project is to improve the coexistence between the wolf and the people who live and work in the Alps, creating shared solutions together with stakeholders, to ensure the long-term conservation of the wolf in the Alps. LIFE WolfAlps EU operates throughout the Alps thanks to the involvement of twenty Italian, Slovenian, French and Austrian partners and dozens of research associations and bodies.
The program of the event will be articulated between the MUSE and the ITAS forum, in the Le Albere district, and includes moments of in-depth study on the main results of the project and on the theme of coexistence but also of education and training, scientific talks, workshops and shows. The appointments will see the participation of an international team of researchers, park rangers, field technicians, educators, breeders, hiking guides. During the three days we will not only talk about wolves, but also about other large carnivores that share the Alpine territory with us, such as lynxes and golden jackals, and more.
