October 16, 2026 / 5.30 - 7.00 pm
From 17 October, the Museo Diocesano Tridentino presents "Nicolò Dorigati - In the sign of the Baroque", the first monographic exhibition dedicated to one of the protagonists of Trentino painting between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. The route brings together paintings never exhibited before, recently restored works and important loans, reconstructing the artistic history of Dorigati, active for almost fiftyyears at the service of churches, convents and families in the area.
At the centre of the exhibition are the large canvases with the Stories of the True Cross, presented together with fragments of the ancient sculptural apparatus of the church of Santa Croce in Lodrone. Through an evocative virtual reconstruction, the project allows us to imagine the ancient presbytery now lost and to deepen the relationship between the works and their original context. The exhibition thus offers the opportunity to rediscover an important artist of the Trentino Baroque and to learn new perspectives on his production.
