On Sunday 3 May 2026, the historic Fiera di Santa Croce, also known as Fiera delle Scale, will take place in the historic centre of Trento.
The Fiera delle Scale, also known as the Fiera di Santa Croce, is one of the oldest fairs in Trentino and is a historical event deeply linked to the city of Trento. Its origins date back to the mid-13th century and initially took place in Via Santa Croce, hence the alternative name. Over time, the fair was moved first to Piazza di Fiera and then to Piazza Duomo, where it is still held today, in the heart of the historic centre.
At one time, the fair was characterized by the sale of wooden stairs, indispensable tools for agriculture and handicrafts, hence the nickname "Fiera delle Scale". Today the event has taken on a more general character, transforming itself into a large open-air market that combines tradition and contemporaneity.
The fair offers a wide range of products: flowers and plants, household and personal items, as well as typical Trentino products such as honey, cheeses and cured meats. A spring date not to be missed for strolling through the historic centre, shopping and experiencing the festive atmosphere of the city.
