Keeping the great war events in the background, the exhibition aims to recount the Trentino experience during the conflict: the battle fronts with the Italian army, the difficult choices after the armistice of 1943, the war at home lived under the threat of bombing and Nazi control of the region.
In recent years, the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino has started a census to give a name to the approximately 40,000 soldiers from Trentino who took part in the conflict. Since this project, our archives have been enriched with new photographic and autobiographical documents. In fact, many people have decided to donate the materials that belonged to their relatives. The exhibition is a first return of this important collected heritage and represents an instrument that accompanies us on the 80th anniversary of the Second World War
