From March to October 2025, take part in an extensive programme of events including exhibitions, educational workshops, themed days, conferences to return the results of scientific research and shows to learn about the world of glaciers and understand their value for our future.

2025 is the International Year of Glacier Conservation, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly, with the aim of raising society's awareness of the essential role of glaciers in the global climate and hydrological system.

Their accelerated melting, caused by rising temperatures and pollution, represents one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time, with profound impacts on the ecosystembiodiversity and local economies.
Today, glaciers cover about 10% of the earth's surface and host a unique biodiversity, which with the melting, risks extinction.
Their disappearance will affect the availability of fresh water, compromise mountain habitats and have direct repercussions on sectors such as tourism, agriculturepastoralism and the production of hydroelectric energy.
