On Sunday, May 24, 2026, an excursion is scheduled to discover the landscape and traditions of the territory of Sardagna, starting at 8:00 am from Piazza Santi Filippo and Giacomo.
After about an hour's walk, with an altitude difference of 80 metres, you will reach the town of Baloton, where you can admire charming centuries-old chestnut trees. Some of these majestic trees, which reach about 400 years of age, represent a precious testimony to the past, when chestnut was a fundamental resource for the life and livelihood of local communities.
The itinerary will continue to the Spiazzi del Bazoert, where participants will visit a new plant made up of 120 young plants grafted with the "Brown of Sardinia" ecotype. During the visit, expert technicians will accompany the group illustrating the main techniques of chestnut cultivation and management, the phytosanitary problems and the prospects for the enhancement of this crop.
An immersive experience between nature, history and agriculture, ideal to learn more about an identity element of the Trentino area.
