The Trentino Foundation for Social Volunteering proposes a round table on Friday 16 May 2025 at 3.00 pm in Piazza Duomo to understand, reflect and imagine concrete actions to combat loneliness.
In a hyper-connected world, you can feel deeply alone. We live between notifications, video calls, likes and automatic replies. Yet, more and more people – young, old, caregivers, migrants, the sick – feel disconnected, invisible, on the margins. Loneliness today is not just a personal emotion. It is a deep, complex, often silent social phenomenon. Precisely for this reason, urgent.
The Trentino Foundation for Social Volunteering has chosen to dedicate 2025 to this theme. Because loneliness can be countered. And volunteering – daily, selfless, silent – is already one of the most powerful responses.
This round table was created to shed light on what often remains hidden: the new solitudes, the forms of invisible isolation, the voids not always recognized as such. But also to tell what already exists, what works and where we can (and must) do better. An hour of open dialogue, with voices from the world of volunteering, research and health. To understand, reflect and – above all – imagine concrete actions. Because volunteering is connection, presence and possibility.
