In the 19th century, and until the end of the Great War, the Buonconsiglio Castle serves as the headquarters of the Austro-Hungarian military command: the rooms change their purpose and the castle undergoes a slow but inexorable decline. A journey through the castle, featuring period photographs and documents, allows one to discover these transformations through a narrative that culminates with the story of Cesare Battisti, the transition to the Kingdom of Italy, and the new museum function for the Castle.
