The Trento Film Festival is the oldest and most prestigious international festival dedicated to the mountains, founded in 1952 thanks to the collaboration between the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) and the Municipality of Trento. For over 70 editions, the Festival has been an unmissable event for those who love the mountains, exploration, life in the highlands and major environmental issues.
Since its first edition, which featured 39 films from seven countries, the Festival has constantly expanded its artistic and cultural horizons, and now offers 12 sections featuring works from all over the world, united by the theme of “Mountains and Cultures”. The best films receive the coveted Genziana d'Oro award, along with numerous other special awards, in a programme that combines cinema, meetings and reflections on the relationship between man, nature and high altitudes.
