A walk in contact with nature, just a few steps away from the city. A path running alongside the beautiful Lake Cei will guide you in a journey full of tranquility, peace and silence. Thanks to the information boards describing the biodiversity present both inside and outside of the lake, you will be able to learn about which natural species live in this magical place.
The walk allows you to discover a wide variety of ecosystems: the pond, the bog, the beech forest are just a few examples.
The protected area has two large basins. The first includes two lakes, Lake Cei and a minor one called Lagabis. Continuing to Cei Valley that goes down north to Cimone and Aldeno, you will meet two peaty areas.
The second basin is smaller, and it is separated from the first one by a line of hills. It hosts a swamp-lake of great natural interest, known as “Pra' dell'Albi” or “Lake San Martino”.
Over the centuries, these places were subject to continuous human presence with all sorts of populations that have occurred over time, leaving important traces of their passage. An important witness is San Martino in Trasiel Church, reachable through a short detour from the ring itinerary.
