Albiano stands on a morainic terrace on the left bank of the Cembra Valley; it is the country of red gold, the Cembrano porphyry, and chestnuts.

Albiano is the land of porphyry and chestnuts. The red porphyry, extracted and processed in the countless open-air quarries, is shipped to countries and cities around the world.
The cultivation of chestnuts is part of the local tradition. This fruit, also reported on the coat of arms of the Municipality, has long been a source of primary sustenance for the inhabitants of the small mountain village who still produce wonderful delicacies with chestnut flour.
The town of Albiano is located on a moraine terrace. The discovery of some prehistoric objects on the site attests that the locality was inhabited as early as the early Iron Age.
Among the most valuable artistic monuments is the late Gothic church of San Biagio, which preserves the remains of frescoes and an 18th-century wooden ordeal.
