The Dragonboat: an exciting sport practiced aboard original boats with the head and tail of a dragon!

It is a sport that is practiced all over the world on standard boats, 12.66 m long and 1.06 m wide, driven by 20 athletes who use paddles at the rhythm of a drummer. At the stern of the boat a helmsman holds the direction.

The origins of the dragon boat date back over 2,000 years to China when, according to legend, the Chinese poet and statesman Qu Yuan threw himself into the Mi-Lo River to protest against the harassment to which his people were subjected by the government of that time. The fishermen, hearing the news, launched themselves with large boats in search of Qu Yuan's body, slamming the waters with their oars to push the fish away.

Today the dragon boat also represents the values of modern sport: high-level physical activity and technical content, team sports where the individual contributes to the success of the group.

What are you waiting for? Experience the thrill of paddling on the dragon boat. Come to Altopiano di Piné with your family or friends, they are guaranteed rhythm, energy, teamwork, fun and...some fresh water.
