To fish in Trentino you do not necessarily have to be in possession of the government-issued licence. From 2018, Italian and non-Italian tourists and fishermen residing in Trentino can fish without a licence; however, it is necessary to purchase a daily fishing permit (also applies to children) which has varying costs depending on the type of permit required- running or stagnant water.
- Daily No Kill: €23
- Daily with catches: €23
- Daily Lakes: €18
- No Kill 3 consecutive days: €48
- 20 trips [hooking only]: €230
- 20 lake trips [hooking only]: €160
- Week - 5 trips in 7 days [hooking only]: £80
- Special Carp Fishing [hooking only]: £20
- Free guest permit for under 14s: £0; by filling in the appropriate section, parents or guardians can allow children under 14 to fish at no additional cost.
A separate note for those who wish to purchase annual permits: for this type of permit, both a fishing licence and a fishing licence for Trentino are required (the licence is mandatory for those over 16 years of age).
The APDT annual permit is free for children under the age of 14; there are various types of permits with different costs depending on age and membership of the association: visit the website to check the costs.
The FIPSAS annual permit is free for children under the age of 10. To apply for a FIPSAS permit, you must have a federal card (visit the website to check the costs).
From the 1st May 2021, citizens must be in possession of a resident fishing licence in the following councils:

Bedollo and Baselga di Piné, solely for the lakes of Serraia and Piazze
except for those in possession of a fishing permit from local fishing associations, will only be able to fish if they have a catch control booklet, which can be requested by appointment at the Hunting and Fishing Desk of the Trento Wildlife Office (tel. 0461 495950) and at the Pergine Valsugana District Forestry Office (tel. 0461 491789).
