10 tips to reduce energy consumption in your facility

  1. Start monitoring and recording actual consumption: this will help you identify and work on your critical areas
  2. Train your staff: raising their awareness of energy saving can lead to small changes
  3. Invest in routine maintenance to reduce extraordinary maintenance
  4. Involve your guests: tell them about your commitment and include reminders to encourage them to optimise consumption
  5. Optimise your heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems: a difference of just 1°C can lead to a significant change in energy consumption
  6. Install photovoltaic panels for domestic hot water and heating, complete with accumulators that not only allow you to produce green energy from sunlight, but also to store excess energy for use when the weather is less favourable or consumption is at its peak.
  7. Replace your boiler with a modern, high-tech solution
  8. Install a cogeneration system, i.e. a system that allows you to produce electricity and, at the same time, heat for heating.
  9. Replace traditional light bulbs with LED bulbs
  10. Install presence sensors and smart sockets: this way, the system itself recognises whether or not guests are present and optimises consumption

10 tips to reduce water consumption in your facility

  1. Install low-consumption or latest-generation taps for more rational water flow management
  2. Take action on toilet flushing: adopt dual-flush cisterns to differentiate the amount of water discharged from the toilet
  3. Launch information campaigns: distribute leaflets and infographics on water saving
  4. Encourage guests to reuse towels: provide a guide indicating the possibility of reusing bathroom linen
  5. Reduce daily cleaning on request: inform guests of the possibility of opting out of daily room cleaning
  6. Train and raise awareness among staff
  7. Reward virtuous behaviour on the part of guests
  8. Recover black, grey and white water and reuse it for cleaning operations
  9. Pay attention to the swimming pool: cover it with specific covers to prevent water evaporation
  10. Do not underestimate maintenance: have pipes, drains or taps that drip repaired promptly
