An exhibition celebrating the eightieth anniversary of the Trentino newspaper l 'Adige.
A journey through eight decades of local, national and international history through the filter of daily life, between technological renewal, editorial revolutions and future challenges, in a world increasingly oriented towards digital.
Founded 80 years ago, the newspaper «l 'Adige» has represented and represents an important voice in the local media context. Born as "Il Popolo trentino", in 1951 it assumed its current name, over the years it has played a central role in telling on the one hand the transformations of the territory as well as, on the other, in connecting Trentino to Italy and the world: this is in fact the essential function of a local newspaper.
Crossing the exhibition path is like browsing through the newspaper: the front page, politics, news, investigations, news from the valleys, to sports and initiatives aimed at the community of readers. The levels of reading are constantly intertwined, comparing the small facts of daily life in Trentino with the great turning points of world history.
The structure of the exhibition unfolds along an impressive chronological line: 800 key news items flanked by the first historical pages. A glance that reconstructs the second twentieth century and the first quarter of this "new" millennium. At the same time, the course documents the corporate history of the newspaper — the changes in direction, ownership and graphics — culminating in a section dedicated to the impact of technology on newsrooms: from the lead of linotypes to the first computers, up to the challenges of online information.
The "paper story" also embodies a rich material heritage: the exhibition is enriched with typographic and technological equipment, sports memorabilia, archival documents, objects for daily use and a selection of historical films and testimonies that transform the visit into an immersion in collective memory.
