Health not simply as the absence of disease, but as the ability to lead one's life in the light of what gives it value. This is the heart of the intervention by Ivo Quaranta, from the International Health Centre of the University of Bologna, which explains the concept of culture as a fundamental ingredient in health promotion work, based on a multidisciplinary and multi-methodological approach.

Flaviano Zandonai (Cultural Welfare Center of Turin) instead focuses on the skills, projects and policies are necessary to ensure that cultural welfare is not only an embellishment of existing initiatives, but instead plays a more markedly transformative role.

At the end of the two interventions, some practical cases of cultural projects developed to stimulate curiosity and promote well-being, especially from a social point of view, are presented.

Cecilia Bima, from the educational sector of Palazzo GrassiPinault Collection in Venice, traces the traces of "Palazzo Grassi Teens", a project started in 2013 and dedicated to teenagers with the aim of re-conceiving the museum space from their point of view, recognising their active and creative role.

Cinzia Lacchia, curator of the Burgundy Museum (Vercelli), presents the "Daedalus flies" project that assessed the impact of culture on health and well-being, through specific questionnaires and interviews with participants in cultural activities proposed by the territorial network.

Rosanna Vit from the C. Eccher School of Music in Cles concludes with "Growing with culture" active in Val di Non and Val di Sole. The project, which has received the Nati per Leggere and Nati per la Musica accreditation, aims to promote music, art and reading experiences in the family, from an early age and is characterised by the synergy between music schools, libraries, consultants, paediatricians, municipalities and local associations.
