On Friday, May 15 at 6:00 p.m., at the "Novecento Trentino ’14 ’72" museum space (Via Torre d 'Augusto 39), the public will explore the link between flavors and memories born from the theatrical research work in four RSAs of the territory conducted by Alessandro Businaro as part of the Pergine Festival
There is an indissoluble link between what we eat and who we are. This is the premise behind "SEASONING: a dialogue on food, memory and identity", the free event promoted by Pergine Festival in collaboration with the Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino to be held on Friday 15 May at 6.00 pm at the "Novecento Trentino ’14 ’72" exhibition space in Via Torre d 'Augusto 39 in Trento.
The meeting represents a fundamental step towards the public debut of "Déjà vu | Pergine", a site-specific participatory performance curated by director Alessandro Businaro. The project has come to life in recent months within four Trentino RSAs (Pergine, Grigno, Borgo Valsugana and Trento), where Businaro, together with the actors Romina Colbasso and Paolo Tosin, has collected recipes, daily gestures and fragments of the lives of the elderly residents.
Awaiting the performance scheduled for July as part of the Pergine Festival, the meeting in Trento proposes an anthropological and artistic reflection on the material collected. Director Alessandro Businaro, playwright Stefano Fortin and anthropologist Angelo Longo will stimulate the audience with profound questions: to whom does food really belong? What's the difference between remembering a flavor and recognizing it as part of your identity?
The discussion, moderated by Elisabetta Antonelli (Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino), will analyse how food memory can act as a "short circuit" between past and present, transforming a simple individual memory into a collective heritage.
Supported by Fondazione Caritro and created in collaboration with the Centro Servizi Culturali Santa Chiara e Arte Sella, Déjà vu | Pergine investigates the concept of "already lived" through food, intended as a tool to recognize one's community and the cultural heritage received.
